Roy R. Morales, age 81, of Point Place passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at home surrounded by family. He was born on March 25, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Candelario and Antonia (Reyes) Morales. Roy worked as a machine operator for City Auto Stamping for 30 years. He was active in the U.A.W. and was Union Vice President for many years. Roy enjoyed debating politics and worked on the Hispanic Community Board for Carty Finkbeiner and did campaign work for Marcy Kaptur and Donna Owens.
Roy loved playing softball and coached many teams over the years. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and fishing with the grandkids. He had a passion for playing Poker and Euchre and was often found playing at different Senior Centers carrying a deck of cards. He will be dearly missed.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Melissa Ojeda and Melinda (Thomas) Cappelletty; grandchildren, Michael Cappelletty (Emily), Nicholas Cappelletty (Tiffany), Jesssica (Cole) Latimer, Megan McDowell, Marcos Morales II, Malena Targett, Mya Rose Morales, and Maricella Morales; great-grandchildren, Joell, Cody, Serenity, Arianna, Mia, Marcos III, and Marianna. He is also survived by his sisters, Adelaida Hernandez, Yolanda Deluna, Sylvia Abramo, Anita Rodriguez, and Ester Kimbrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Marcos Morales, and siblings.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St Thomas Aquinas Church at 11:00 a.m. where family will receive guests from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
