Ronald E. Hammond Sr.

Ronald Eugene Hammond, Sr. 87, passed to his heavenly home on July 3, 2025. He joined his wife, Kay Sawyer Hammond and his son, Ronald Hammond, Jr., parents, James Harry and Edna Hammond, Sr., his brothers, Roger (Ann) Hammond and James Harry (Janice) Hammond, Jr., his sister, Betty (Sam) Rice. Surviving are his sister, Danna Hammond Powers, a sister-in-law, Ann Hammond and a brother-in-law, Sam Rice.Also surviving are a host of nephews and nieces and their families.

Ron worked for the CSX Railroad until his retirement. After retiring, he loved to lead tours to the Holy Land with his pastor, Russ Bone. He was an avid coin collector and a master woodworker. Ron faithfully attended Echo Meadows Church of Christ where he dearly loved his church family.

Visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:30. The funeral will be held following the visitation at 12:30. The burial will be at Clay Township Cemetery. The funeral service will be led by Russ Bone and Bob Long.
