Ronald “Ron” Walter Lesniewski, age 84, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on October 1, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Mercy Hospital following complications from a motor vehicle accident. Born on July 2, 1941, in Erie, Michigan, to Walter and Virginia Lesniewski, Ron was the oldest of six children. He grew up with a strong work ethic, a love for family, and an unmatched talent for fixing just about anything. He first worked at Toledo Jeep. He then proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he and his brother Patrick founded LESS Roofing Company, which he owned and operated for 42 years. He was known for his hard work, his skill, and the trust he built with others. On January 8, 1966, Ron married the love of his life, Patricia. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and steadfast devotion.

He was the proud father of two daughters, Dawn Wallace and Jennifer Drew, and delighted in being “Papa” to his grandchildren, Emily Wallace and Ethan Drew. To his sons-in-law, Mark Wallace and Christopher Drew, Ron was more than family by marriage—he loved them as his own sons. Ron found joy in many passions. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed driving with the top down in his Pontiac Solstice. Still, he was happiest in his boat on Lake Erie with a fishing pole in his hand. A master fisherman, he could catch any kind of fish and even craft his own lures to do it. In his younger years, he worked as a butcher, a skill he perfected over a lifetime and carried into making his own sausage and kielbasa. Known for his ingenuity, Ron loved tinkering in his garage—if something could be bought, he could probably build it better. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Dawn (Mark) Wallace and Jennifer (Christopher) Drew; grandchildren Emily Wallace and Ethan Drew; siblings Patrick, John, Richard, and Anne; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Iris.

Per Ron’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 6-8:00 p.m. at The Barn 1010 Bury Rd. Oregon OH 43616. The family encourages those who wish to honor his memory to do so in their own way. Ron was a proud patriot who deeply loved his country, and one meaningful way to remember him is through a donation to causes he valued, such as Tunnels to Towers, Wounded Warrior Project, or  Disabled American Veterans.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU doctors and nurses at St. Vincent’s Mercy Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and dignity in Ron’s care. Despite the severity of his injuries, Ron gave a strong fight until the very end. Ron will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend—someone who lived fully, loved deeply, and left a legacy of hard work, generosity, patriotism, and resilience. In the spirit of his service, we say with honor: “This We’ll Defend.” And as his family, we take comfort in knowing that Ron is now fishing every single day—never worried about the weather, never bothered by choppy waters, and certainly not limited by how many fish he can catch.
