Sandra Sue (White) Bohland, 84, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. A beloved sister, mother, grandmother and friend, Sandy will be remembered for her selfless generosity and boundless love for people.
Born on February 9, 1940, in Middleport, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles and Virginia White. Her 56-year marriage to Jack J. Bohland began on May 2, 1959. She worked as a seamstress, and at JC Penny, Dale’s Carryout in East Toledo and Kmart in Oregon.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Patricia Audia. She is survived by her children, Jack T. (Cindy), James (Debbie), and Beth (Scott) Carpenter; brother Daniel (Susan) White; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Carol Furry; brothers-in-law Russell Bohland and John Audia; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special family friends Chris Schwind and Michelle Hallauer; Margaret and Terrence Arthur and their 4 children; and her loving caregiver Melissa Dixon. Also left to mourn her are her many friends at Luther Hills Apartments, where the community living room was dedicated as “Sandy’s Room.”
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care by the nurses in the ICU at Bay Park Hospital.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon, from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning after 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 798 S. Coy Road, Oregon, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., officiated by her dear friend, Pastor Julie Beitelschees. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Oregon.
