Sandra P. Danko, age 78, resident of Toledo, passed away on April 2, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born on August 10, 1947, to the late Norman Eff and Phyllis (Schutt) Eff Long.

Sandi grew up in the Ironville neighborhood. She graduated from Waite High School's class of 1965. Her career was marked by her work across numerous retail settings, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and unwavering work ethic. Yet, it was in her role as a homemaker that Sandi truly found her calling, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to the care and nurture of her family.

Family was Sandi’s greatest joy and priority. She enjoyed trips to the cabin with family, where they would camp and go fishing. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, often saying they were the brightest lights in her life. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she lovingly sewed clothes not only for her children but even for their dolls, creating lasting memories through her talented hands.

She was an enthusiastic participant in board games such as Yahtzee and Variety Puzzles, sharing fun-filled hours with those she loved. She was an excellent cook, whose meals were treasured gatherings around the table, and a passionate gardener who enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, finding peace in their growth and beauty. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like her love for hot tea and watching television programs like The Price Is Right and The Young and the Restless. She also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Toledo Goaldiggers and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, where her enthusiasm was always evident.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving husband, Richard Danko, whom she married on April 12, 1969; daughters, Shelli (Ross) Brocksmith and Jennifer Danko; grandchildren, Madeleine and Willem; beloved fur baby, Max; brothers, Tim Eff and Jospeh Long; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Donald Long; siblings, David Eff, Jack Eff, Linda Severson, Richard Eff, and Cindy Zuccarell; and step-brothers, Donald Long and Jeff Long.
