Scott Alan Hughes

Scott A. Hughes, age 62, of Millbury, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Toledo Hospital surrounded by family members. He was born on November 26, 1963 in Toledo, Ohio to Franklin and Jeannine (Sutter) Hughes. Scott was a 1982 graduate of Lake High School. He married his wife, Ruth Brannan on February 18, 1989 and together they started their family.

Scott was a self-employed carpenter, building many homes in the area over the years. He was a member of Mainstreet Church where he enjoyed going on Mission Trips to Jamaica. Scott loved playing drums, collecting mugs, and hanging out with his coffee shop buddies at Don’s Donuts. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ruth; children, Heidi (Bryan) Miller, Casey (Kyle) Hardin, Leah (Ron) Birchall, and Derek Hughes; grandchildren, Brayden and Audrey Miller, River and Briar Birchall and soon to be baby Hardin. He is also survived by his mother, Jeannine Hughes; siblings, Brian (Karen) Hughes, Cheryl Phillips, and Kevin (Lisa) Hughes and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and extended family. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Frank.

There will be a private burial for immediate family members. A celebration of life will be held at Mainstreet Church on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Mainstreet Church/Jamaica Fund.
