Sharon Kay Nutt

Sharon Kay Nutt, age 71, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center. Born on January 3, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of Homer and Clara (Jackson) Nutt. Sharon’s early education took place at Waite High School, where she laid the groundwork for a life marked by a strong work ethic and dedication. Her career began at Eddie’s Grill, a place where her vibrant spirit could be felt by many. She later joined the team at Golden Jade Restaurant and eventually Tony Packo’s. Sharon worked ten years for Walgreens distribution before retiring. 

Sharon loved to spend her time with those she held dear. She took particular joy in visiting local casinos, where she embraced the thrill of the game. Many will remember her infectious laughter and generous heart.Sharon is survived by her beloved daughter, Melanie (Jason) Hyslop; grandsons, Rocky Lee Johnson, and Jason (Sara) Hyslop Jr.; great-granddaughter, Olesya Lee Abercrombie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, James Nutt, Sue Gower, Jackie Jeffries, and Mikel Nutt.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Freck Funeral Chapel, located at 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
