Sharon L. Spade, age 85, passed away peacefully at the Gardens of St. Francis, on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1940, to the late Myron B. and Estella M. (Shook) Spade.
A graduate of Waite High School, Sharon furthered her education by earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She devoted over 40 years of her life to the Toledo Public Schools, serving faithfully as a secretary. Throughout her extensive career, Sharon was known for her reliability, integrity, and the quiet strength she brought to her work environment.
Sharon was an avid reader, and had a special love for travel, which inspired her to take numerous trips to Europe, where she explored new cultures, often participating in guided tours. She was also remarkably fluent in German, a testament to her intellectual curiosity and dedication.
Her creative spirit was equally evident in her baking, where she mastered the art of crafting delicious sweet desserts. Sharon also found great pleasure in the performing arts, regularly attending theatre shows and enjoying music.
Sharon will be remembered by her warmth, kindness, and simplicity with which she approached every aspect of life. Her legacy is one of devotion to service, a passion for education and culture, and a heart full of goodwill.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving nieces, Dana (Andrew) Reichert and Lori Jaeger; great nieces, Torrie Ruch, Abbie Reichert and Allie Reichert; great nephew, Cole Smith; and brother-in-law, Dave Jaeger.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Dianne Jaeger.
