Shirley Sheely

Shirley Sheely, age 90 of Oregon, OH and formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Kingston of Sylvania. Shirley was born to Lloyd and Mabel (Christ) Fry on September 6, 1935, in Salunga, PA. In her younger years, she loved roller skating at Maple Grove Skating Rink in Lancaster. Shirley was married to Roy Sheely for 22 years before his passing on October 2, 2016. She retired from the Jobst Institute for Burn Victims, where she worked as a cutter. Shirley enjoyed bowling, bingo, and reading. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by daughters Vickie (Ronald) Maenle, Pennie Kauffman, and Lori Dubell; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 step-children, 4 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, son Gerald, son-in-law Bruce Dubell, brothers Walt and Bob, sister Gertrude, and a granddaughter Regina Maenle.

A memorial gathering will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel on October 10, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. An inurnment will be held at Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Alzheimer’s Association.
