Terry Jiannuzzi, age 71, of Northwood, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on November 7, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Ruth (Sauer) Jiannuzzi. Terry was a 1970 graduate of DeVilbiss High School and then briefly attended the University of Toledo before being drafted to the U.S. Army. He married his lovely wife, Nancy (Oberdier) on February 6, 1993. Terry was the operations and turn around coordinator for BP-Huskey Toledo Refinery for 22 years, retiring in 2017.
Terry lived a life of service. He believed that a life dedicated to the service of others was the only way. He helped his family start Sals Pals charity for Cystic Fibrosis named so for his God son Salvatore. Which he ran and organized events for, for many years. Terry also volunteered with the French Town Newport Department of Veterans #137, helping veterans with obtaining their benefits and raising funds to benefit local veterans. He was always willing to help a stranger out.
Terry was an avid golfer, playing year round if he could. He also loved spending time with his seven grandchildren over all else. Attending their assorted sporting events and concerts as often as possible. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and a 4th degree knight with K of C- Cathedral Council #16264.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Nancy Jiannuzzi; children, Rayleen (Chris) Orlando, James Cheatham Jr., and Tony Jiannuzzi; grandchildren, Raeann (Bri) Cheatham-Steele, Mason Orlando, Isabel Orlando, James Cheatham III, Elise Orlando, Anthony Jiannuzzi, and Isabella Jiannuzzi; siblings, James (Diane) Jiannuzzi, Sue (Don) Downing, William Jiannuzzi, Annie (Steve) Dillon, and Robert (Darlene) Jiannuzzi and many many friends he made over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Clarence Coveney, and Joe Jiannuzzi.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 2-8:00 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church where family will greet guests after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at North Oregon Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
