Theresa Ann Sedlak, age 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 in the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and her family.

Theresa was born in Blairsville, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Mary (Daubner) Nestich on February 18, 1940. At the age of 12, her family moved to Toledo. Theresa met her husband Louis, while they were students at Waite High School. They were then married on August 31, 1963. Theresa worked at National Family Opinion where she later retired from. She enjoyed scrabble with her family and playing games on her kindle. Family meant the world to her; she was a very proud “Old Grandma” who loved cheering for all the grandkids at their sports. She also loved girls shopping trips, family dinners and going to the casino with her sisters and nieces.

Theresa is survived by her two children, Randy Sedlak and Lori Firsdon (Doug); grandchildren, Jessica Preston (Justin), Jacob Firsdon (Molly) and Joshua Firsdon; and 6 great-grandchildren, Brody, Dexter, Aiden, Canaan, Tate and Maya; sisters, Dolly Sasala and Jackie (Ozzy) Lay; sister-in-law, Charolette Nestich; and brother-in-law, Richard Birt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary; husband, Larry; brother, Tom Nestich; sisters, Mary (Andy) Vargo, Norma (Chuck) Sattler, Patricia Gerding, Judie Birt; brother-in-law, Joe Sasala and great granddaughter, Erika.

The family is honoring Theresa’s wishes by doing a small family only celebration of life later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in honor of Theresa.

The family would also like to extend a huge thank you to all the nurses who helped in caring for Theresa. Especially St. Charles Hospital, Kingston of Perrysburg, Mercy Health Hospital of Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Our family appreciates everything each of them did to help her and to comfort us in our time of need.
