Vicki (Vivian) Rakay

Vicki (Vivian) Rakay, 69, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 15th, 2026. Vicki had suffered multiple health problems over the last 11 years.

Vicki was born May 25th, 1957, in Miami, Florida, to Muriel and William Whiddon. She spent her younger years in Florida. She was a 1975 graduate of Faith Christian High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. She went on to attend Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.

While at Bob Jones, Vicki enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard in 1979. Shortly thereafter, she met her husband John Rakay and moved to Toledo, Ohio. The family then moved to Grove City, Ohio, and Sterling Heights, Michigan, following John’s career. Ultimately, Vicki and John moved to Mount Sterling, Ohio, where they resided until Vicki’s passing.

Vicki is survived by her husband John, daughter Carrie (Chad), daughter Julie, and son Kyle. Her grandchildren include Gavyn, Cole, Blake (Shay), Addison, Raygen, and Keaghan. She is also survived by many cousins on both sides of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Clifford and Vivian Downs, in-laws John and Ruth Rakay, sister-in-law Amy Rakay, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Per Vicki’s request, there were no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
