Viola May Hunt

Viola M. Hunt, age 94, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at home surrounded by family members. She was born on March 29, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Jack and Almira (Young) Herman. Viola was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was employed at Glausers Greenhouse for 20 years before joining Heartland Holly Glen where she spent 27 years until her retirement.

Viola was known for her delicious baking and always chasing a family member with her wooden spoon out of the kitchen. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flower garden. She will be dearly missed.

Viola is survived by her children, Herb (Sheila) Renfer, William (Donna) Renfer, Paul Hunt, Dale A. Lounsbury, and Paul (Barb) Youngblood; grandchildren, Kendra (Danny) Renfer, Jack (Peggi) Renfer, Brandy (Jim) Renfer, Melissa (Rob) Shields, Matthew (Heather) Renfer, Jessica Hunt, William (Bailey) Hunt, Misty (Kris) Kirkendall, Josh (Linda) Lounsbury, and Brandon (LeeAnne) Lounsbury; numerous great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Charlotte) Herman, and Don (Cathy) Herman; and sisters-in-law, Hazel Herman and Joyce Herman. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Kenny Hunt and Leroy Renfer; longtime companion, Frank Youngblood, her siblings, Marcella Eaton, William Herman, Orlo Herman, Otto Herman, and John Herman; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Hunt and Mandy Hunt.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
