William H. Compton

William H. Compton born December 30, 1928 in Betsy Lane, KY to Emory and Wadie Compton. Known as William or Bill, he served in the United States Army stationed in Germany, during the Korean War. Bill also served as a member of the American Legion Post 240 for many years in Luckey, Ohio.

Bill touched many lives with his sense of humor and singing. He was known as Candy Man and Santa Clause.

William is survived by his wife, Sharon of 53 years; sister, Ruby; children, Marty, Terry, Leann, Brenda; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanual Freewill Baptist Church on Gilbert Rd in Luckey, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his wife, Sharon.
