William “Billy GOAT” Carl Dopfer Jr., 66, of Toledo, passed away at the University of Toledo Medical Center on September 11, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to William C. Dopfer Sr. and Karleyne (Schroeder) Dopfer. He would go on to raise two children.
William was a forklift operator at The Andersons from 1987 until 2012. He enjoyed motorcycles, preferring Harleys, and was very social and outgoing. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and loved to have a good time, being the life of the party. His other interests included football, hockey, and birds. He was a go getter, never a procrastinator. William was a true jokester, always picking on his loved ones every chance he got.
Left to cherish William’s memory are his wife, Julie; Children, Melody and Robert (Taylor); Grandchildren, Joe, Zander, Jim, Julian; Siblings, Beth, Kathy (Chan), Norm (Susan), Carl (Kim); brother-in-law Steve (Marsha) and Rick along with sister-in-law Sandra and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are the numerous pets and friends William had. Preceding him in death are his parents, sister, Helyn, brother-in-law, Steve, and his uncle Dick.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 11 a.m.-7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the chapel beginning at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Leroy Sholey. Memorials can be made in William’s memory to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are being handled by Freck Funeral Chapel.
