Arthur R. Schnabel

Arthur Robert Schnabel was the third oldest of Emil and Regina Schnabel’s seven children.  He was born in Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday, July 3, 1946. 

There are many wonderful memories of Arthur from childhood to adulthood. Arthur really enjoyed making people laugh with his comical sense of humor!  This led him to enter a jalapeno contest due to his love for peppers! For his 50th birthday, his friend drew a picture of him as a pepper and made it into a birthday card!

Art loved his family and friends. His nephews and nieces were an endearing part of his life and “Uncle Art,” as they lovingly called him, gave them special and fun memories that they cherish to this day! He was truly a fun uncle to spend time with, and had plenty of stories to share and never seemed to be short of conversation (that’s how he got the nickname, “Energizer Bunny”)! Those special moments will truly be missed.

As time went on, his journey in life became challenging.  Arthur faced many health issues that were too difficult for him to endure.  He fought valiantly until his journey came to an end on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Regina Schnabel, and his siblings, Ed Schnabel and Carol Schnabel Bunn.  He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Schnabel Hopson, Regina Schnabel Keller, James Schnabel, and Christiana Schnabel, as well as 18 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews, and Mona Gomez, a dear friend and loyal companion. 

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 11:00-1:00 p.m. where services will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
