Catherine Ann Mangas

Catherine Ann Mangas, 95, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center.  She was born on October 23, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Margaret Fleitz.  Catherine was a 1943 graduate of Clay High School.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Merce Industries, retiring after 26 years of service.  Catherine was a devote catholic and 82-year member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Catherine also volunteered at St. Charles Hospital in the gift shop for 20 years.

Catherine is survived by her son, W. Martin (Diane) Smith; grandson, W. Alexander (Elizabeth) Smith; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Catherine Smith; brothers, Bert Fleitz and Bob Fleitz and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Wilson “Jack” Smith and second husband, Richard Mangas.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Oregon, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. where family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider St. Ignatius Church.
