Diann Nadean (Gabriel) Novak

Diann Nadean (Gabriel) Novak, 77, of East Toledo went to be with her Savior and Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Diann was born on January 11, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Anthony and Mary Gabriel. She graduated from Waite High School in 1961 and was the class salutatorian. On July 7, 1963, she married the love of her life, Steven P. Novak. She was employed at Parkview Hospital and as an office manager for Dr. George Stucker. Diann was the Oncology Outreach Volunteer Coordinator at Mercy Health St. Vincent’s Medical Center for 17 years and she volunteered with the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery RENU programs and the Northwest Ohio Komen Race for the Cure. She was presented the National Kellogg Foundation Award for her work with breast cancer survivors of which she and her husband were ones.

Diann founded the Oakdale United Methodist Golden Agers and she was an elder at the former Oregon New Harvest Christian Church. She currently was a member of Heritage Church of God in Maumee. She also enjoyed the Rebekah Circle Bible Study girls.    

Diann is survived by her husband, Steven and her half-sister, Alice J. Johns and brother-in-law, Paul Novak (Debora). She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Charles Gabriel.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, January 1, 2021, from 2-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Rd in Maumee where family will greet guests after 10:00 a.m.  Services will be livestreamed on the Heritage Toledo Church youTube channel for those who cannot attend.  Private burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Heritage Church of God, Pre-Born or Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.
