Furman “Bud” Wells

Furman “Bud” Wells passed away on December 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Bud was born on July 31, 1946 to Kenneth and Ethel (Taylor) Wells. He was a 1965 graduate of Clay High School; and shortly after married the love of his life, Dianna (Brown) Wells.

            Bud’s love of working with his hands was expressed through his generational custom cabinet and remodeling business, at which he first worked with his father; and then his three sons. Bud enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. But nothing pleased Bud more than telling a good story to willing listeners - and most who knew him were always willing, knowing the story would bring a great laugh.

            If you know the Wells family, you will see the most prideful accomplishment of Bud’s great life: His children and their families who love and support each other deeply.

            Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ethel (Taylor) Wells, brother Marty Wells and wife Dianna (Brown) Wells. He is survived by brothers Jim and Randy Wells;  children, Ron (Kelli) Wells, Scott (Shari) Wells, Tom (Denise) Wells and Crystal (Jay) Clark; grandchildren Alison (Andy) Laurell, Ashley, Mackenzie, Kendall, Zachary, Lana and Kurt Wells and Aaron, Evan, Emily and Elyse Clark; and great-grandchildren Grant, Abigail and Isabelle Laurell.

            Visitation and services will take place at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Memorial gifts can be given in Bud’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
