Gary A. Corner

Gary A. Corner, age 60, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at MercyHealth-St. Vincent Medical Center.  He was born on October 5, 1960, in Fostoria, Ohio to John and Hazel Corner.  Gary was a 1979 graduate of Fostoria High School and went on to become an CAD Operator Engineer.  He married his wife, Geraldine on August 5, 1989.  Gary was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where he sang on the choir and played on the church’s dart ball team.

In his spare time, he loved to play cards and had played with the same poker group for over 20 years.  He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and boxes for family and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Geraldine Corner; daughters, Melanie (Frank) Gibson and Teresa Janssens; son, Shannon Adkins; grandchildren, Kristin Wharton, Brittani (Rusty) Herrick, Joshua Wharton, Stefan Adkins, Naomi Wears, Bailey Adkins, and “adopted” granddaughter, Ashley (Joshua) Swanson; 10 great-grandchildren, brother, Tom (Christine) Corner and sister, Nancy (Mac) Corner.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Corner; son-in-law, Jeffary Wharton, and nephew, Sean Corner.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 2-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd Toledo, OH 43605 on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. where family will greet guests after 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
