Glen Bodi Obituary

Glen Allen Bodi, age 62 of Northwood, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Bay Park Community Hospital.

Glen was born on May 21, 1958 to the late Glenwood and Donna (Rader) Bodi in Toledo. He worked in industrial maintenance mostly working with printing presses.  Glen loved working at James River Inc., formerly GILCO for nearly 24 years.  He had a great working relationship and later great friendships with his co-workers that lasted long after their plant closed.

Glen was a great husband to Deborah and an even greater father to Sarah, Scott and Shawn.  He was the best grandfather any grandchild could ask for.  He was very proud to be called their Papa.  Many who know Glen, know him as a tough guy.  His granddaughters had him wrapped around his finger whether he would admit it or not.  Glen was an avid NASCAR fan and a devoted Miami Dolphins and Ohio State Buckeye fan.  He and his wife enjoyed their annual trip to the June races at Michigan International Speedway starting back when they were first dating until present.  Their children enjoyed the race experience with them over the years as well.

Glen enjoyed camping with his family and friends and enjoyed many adventurous trips throughout the years with his wife Deborah by his side.  As a kid, he grew up in Point Place where his parents had several boats through the years and grew up on the water.  He loved being outside, whether it was camping, boating or hanging out by the campfire with family and friends. Glen has been known to many, for his hospitality and grand Fourth of July fireworks displays annually.  Glen recently rejoined the River View Yacht Club after a short hiatus and was enjoying his time on the lake and river once again.  Glen will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  One thing everyone knows about Glen is, if he did not pick on you, then he didn’t love you.  His funny and constant commentaries are something we are already missing.

Glen is survived by his wife Deborah; children Sarah, Scott and Shawn (Tiffany) Jones; grandchildren Leah, Natalie, and Zelia; niece Brittany (Joseph); and nephew Michael (Kalyn); cousins Nicki and Maggi and grand doggies Layla, Willie, Indy and Snowball. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Butch and Brandy.

Glen’s family will greet family and friends on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. which will be livestreamed.  Glen will be laid to rest at Lake Township Cemetery on January 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., the family will have a luncheon to immediately follow at the VFW in Walbridge.  The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Bay Park Hospital ICU for their wonderful care and devotion to Glen and his family while he was in their care.  Anyone wishing to make a donation in Glen’s honor, the family asks to make donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
