James Patrick Douglas, Sr.

James Patrick Douglas, Sr., age 88, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born in Toledo, OH to James Edward and Eleanor June (Dougherty) Douglas on December 30, 1933. James worked for Ohio Bell for many years. He enjoyed playing euchre, fishing and playing golf. James also worked once with Jamie Farr on the LPGA. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Old Newsboys, where he helped with the annual newspaper sale. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Marie; his children, Daniel (Leah), Gerald (Donia), and James II (Ana); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Andrea, James III, and Nicholas; his numerous great-grandchildren; and his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kristen, his parents, and his brothers, Bob, Bill, Jack, and Tom.

Family and friends may visit the  Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. James will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to VITAS Healthcare-Hospice.
