James “Big Jim” Doyle

James Lynn Doyle, age 77, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center.  He was born on February 4, 1945 in Blount County, Alabama to Aubrey Lee and Etta Mary Doyle.  James grew up working on his family farm before moving to the Toledo area.  He married his wife, Linda on November 6, 1965.  James worked for GM Powertrain retiring in 1999 after 33+ years of service.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing music with friends.  He will be dearly missed by his family.

James is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Doyle; daughter, Donna (Jon) Amundsen; grandchildren, Alexis, and Andrew Amundsen; and his sister, Rethia Hawk.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ada Saddix and his brothers, Talmadge, and Frank Doyle.  

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 11:00-1:00 p.m.  Graveside services will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
