Janet Marie Lewis

Janet Marie Lewis age 79, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital.  Janet was born to Richard O. and Marguerite (Schmidlin) Becker on April 17, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio.  Janet was a 1959 graduate of Clay High School and worked for many years at Kroger’s in Toledo and as a Mary Kay Consultant.

Janet is survived by her children Robert (Darlene) Cummerow, Joan (Mark) Fondessy, and Michael (Mandy) Cummerow; grandchildren Jake Sendner, Bobby Cummerow, Jimmy (Paige) Cummerow, Sarah Cummerow, Otto Cummerow and Molly Cummerow; and great-grandchildren Henry and Freddie Cummerow.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Becker.

Janet believed in Jesus and is now in heaven.  Her life was colorful and through it all, God was always faithful.

Janet always had a smile for everyone and was the first to lend a helping hand whenever needed.  Her generosity was well known. 

In her younger years, she enjoyed being on Lake Erie, fishing or sailing, playing the piano and watching baseball games.  While working at Krogers, some of her favorite customers were Toledo Firefighters.

Most recently she most enjoyed spending time with her family (especially grandchildren) and friends and spoiling her cats Maggie & Callie.  Her high school pals remained lifelong friends.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 2 until 8 p.m.  A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.  A private burial will be held at First St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Memorial contributions are appreciated to Paws & Whiskers Cat Shelter
