Jay Neff

Jay Earl Neff, 63, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Bay Park Community Hospital.  He was born on April 11, 1957 in Orrville, Ohio to Dora and Geraldine (Gopp) Neff.  Jay was a 1975 graduate of Canton South High School.  He worked as a material handler for Calphalon, retiring in 2020 after 43 years of service.   Jay grew up in a large family so it was only natural that he would have the same when he had his own, and he always put them first. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and hunting or fishing with his brothers. Jay loved the outdoors and camping but never as much as he did with his family and friends. He treated friends like family and strangers like friends. He truly had a kind and giving spirit, willing to help anyone that asked or was in need.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Nadine Neff; uncle, Melvin (Sue) Gopp; children, Christopher Neff, Brent (Rachel) Neff, Chad Neff, Terrijo (George) Smith, Jessica (Steve) Shinaver, Jamie (Saul) Nevarez, Tori (Chris) Beldon, and Mandi (Dennis) Callanan; 19 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Randy (Debbie) Neff, Sandy (Rick) May, Blane

(Deb) Neff, Robbie (Elizabeth) Neff, Carey (Sherry) Neff, Vic (Debbie) Neff, DeeDee (Steve) Reinhard, and Jody (Dan) Dolvin, numerous nieces and nephews, and his canine companions, Joey and Toni.  He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher Brown.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 2:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
