Jean Marie Hochanadel

Jean Marie Hochanadel age 81, of Millbury and formerly of East Toledo passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Jean was born to Frank and Helen (Erd) Koberstein on February 4, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1958. Jean was known as the caregiver in her family, raising 5 children with Robert, her husband of 63 yrs. She was active at Good Shepherd Catholic Church teaching CCD, RCIA and as a member of Altar Rosary Society. After her children were grown, Jean spent time working as a Pharmacy Assistant at the Oregon Food Town. She loved to garden, bird watch and go on bus trips with her sister.   

Jean is survived by her loving husband Robert; children Kathy (Debbie) Lloyd-Hochanadel, Mary Lou (Gerald) Burkhart, Joel (Torrey) Johnson-Hochanadel, Dave Hochanadel, Steven (Danielle) Hochanadel; grandchildren Jerry, Kelly, Kristi, Renee, Andrea, Kate, Brock, Sienna, and Benjamin; 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings Don, Frank and Karen Koberstein. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Pat Herman.

Friends are welcome to visit Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel at 10 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow in Allen Township Cemetery Williston, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of choice.
