John Kepler

John Kepler, 67, of Elliston, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.  He was born on September 13, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Earl and Virginia (McCroskey) Kepler.  John was a 1970 graduate of Perrysburg High School.  He earned a bachelor’s degree from Defiance College and worked as chief lake inspector for Pickands Mather Coal Company, retiring in 2012.  In his spare time, John enjoyed woodworking and hunting.  He was a member of the Sandusky County Sportsman Club, Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association, and the Corvair Society of America.  He was a merchant marine for 4 years and sailed the Great Lakes.  Most of all he loved spending time with family, spoiling the grandkids.  He will be dearly missed.

            John is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathy; sons, Peter (Stacy), James, Thomas (Melissa), and John Jr. (Joleen Powers); grandchildren, Cora, Lilly, Henry, Price, Jordyn, Kaylee, Jayme, and Katelynn; and his brother, Bradley (Diane).  He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sarah.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd Oregon, OH 43616 on Saturday, from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. where services will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery.
