Jon A. Schwandner

Jon A. Schwandner, age 81, of Walbridge, OH, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born in Mount Carmel, IL on June 15, 1942 to Albert and Laura (Leek) Schwandner. Jon retired as a senior supervisor with the Ohio Turnpike Commission. He enjoyed refurbishing vintage cars and collecting coins. He especially enjoyed trying his luck with his many scratch off tickets and taking road trips with his buddy Ted (Dian). Jon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Susan; his children, Jodi and Jeffrey J.; his grandchildren, Andy (Tausha), Sam (Kate), and Max (Marissa); his five great-grandchildren, Oliver, Liam, Benjamin, Max, and Everly; and special family friend, Debbie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Laura, and his sister, Sandra.

Family and friends may visit at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, OH, on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Mainstreet Church, Walbridge, OH or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, OH.
