Jose "Big Joe" Garcia

Jose “Big Joe” Angil Garcia, 63, of Bono, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was born in Oregon, OH to Eduardo and Dora (Reyes) Garcia on August 10, 1958. He was a graduate of Clay High School and worked for many years as a mechanic. Big Joe was always one to enjoy a good joke and always had a smile on his face. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Big Joe leaves behind his children, Hope (Homer) Turner, Manuel Lopez, and Aleisha Lopez; his grandchildren, Rayna, Megan, Emily, Carley, Mariah, Jasmine, Shelby, Tony, Armando, and Eduardo; his siblings, Eduardo Garcia Jr., Seledina (Walter) Whitten, Ediberto Garcia, Rita Garcia, Diana (Joe) Hernandez, Ruben Garcia, Tomas Garcia, Raul Garcia, and Ramon Garcia; his mother, Dora Garcia; his dear friend, Oscar Sauceda; and the mother of his children, LaVerna Lopez; and many loving extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Arturo; his father, Eduardo; his siblings, Carlos, Carlos, and Dora; his nephews, Joey, Oscar and Adam; his niece, Analeis; his special uncle, Juan Manuel and his grandparents, Roberto (Guadalupe) Leal.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Closing prayers will be recited at 10:00 a.m at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 with the funeral mass to be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Bono, OH, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Big Joe will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
