Joseph Orval Boswell

Joseph Orval Boswell age 83 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, June 3, 2022. Joseph was born to Orval and Ruby (Mattingly) Boswell in Owensboro, KY on March 27, 1939. Joe graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army. He was a meat cutter by trade since age 13 and worked many retail positions until retirement. He and his wife Henrietta were East Toledo Baptist Church members for 53 years. Joseph was also a member of the Freemasons of Owensboro. Joe loved his grandchildren; they were his pride and joy. He was known to enjoy watching western movies and Nascar races with a Diet Pepsi next to him.

Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years Henrietta; children Brian Joseph (Kathy) Boswell, Tonya Lynn Rucki, and Heather Marie King; grandchildren Brandon (Veronica) Gifford, Colton (Stacy) Webster, Amber (Coy) Giles, AJ (Whitney) Rich, Hannah (Matthew) Rucki, Ashley (Tommy) Rucki, Sarah (Justin) Heuring, and Clifford King Jr. “Bubby”; great-grandchildren Julian, Noah, Dustyn, Connor, Logan, Jaxon, Kayson, Wyatt, C.K., Ireland, Deven, Alena, Kaleb, Payton and baby Madilyn (due in October); siblings Doug (Michelle) Boswell, Kenny (Brenda) Boswell, Brenda (Doug) Crowe; sister-in-law Linda Boswell and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Linda; brothers Marvin and Ernest; and nieces Kathy and Hannah.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 2 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2022, in the funeral home starting at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the family.
