Joyce Elaine Hosley

Joyce E. Hosley, age 89, of Curtice, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 surrounded by her family at the Gardens of Saint Francis. She was born in Walbridge, OH to Raymond and Gertrude (Vander Vlucht) Burger on June 6, 1933 and was one of twelve children. Joyce married Delmont Hosley on June 1, 1951 and together they farmed for 52 years. She was active with the Mother’s Clubs, UMC Auxilliary, and volunteered at Luther Home of Mercy. Joyce loved time spent with family, dinners, games, and special times with siblings and babysitting her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.

Joyce is survived by her son, Raymond (Marty) Hosley; her grandchildren, David (Susan) Hosley, Deanna (Chad) Rivera, Denice (Jeff) Ward; great-grandchildren, Noa and Ajeh Hosley, Gavin Ward, Logan Rivera, and Mikalah (Cameron) Bauman; her sisters, Doris Levy, and Donna Oatley; her sister-in-law, Toni Burger; her many nieces and nephews that were dear to her heart; her dear and special friend, Sharon Lindell; and Karen Hosley, who was like a daughter to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Reverend Glen McKinny; her husband, Delmont in 2015; her son Jeffrey in 2019; her sisters, Ruth, Mary, Joanne, Gerry, and Carolyn; brothers, Raymond Jr., John, Rolland, and Robert.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Allen Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Oregon, OH, the Jerusalem Township Fire Department, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
