Larry August Moritz, age 81, of Millbury, OH, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at home suddenly and unexpectedly following a cardiac arrest. He was born December 15, 1941 in his grandparent’s home in Martin, OH. His parents were Alton Christ Moritz and Faye Gertrude Kruse Moritz. Larry’s dad was in the Army at the time and later his mom and he were able to go to different Army bases where his dad was stationed. Starting in junior high school Larry started competitive high power rifle shooting. Lots of trophies were won. Larry graduated from Genoa High School in 1959. He started working at General Motors in 1962. He entered the apprentice program to become a tool maker. Larry loved his job and retired in 2007 after almost 45 years working at Hydramatic. On August 3, 1963, Larry married the love of his life, Carol Brillhart, having over 60 very happy years together. Golfing was one of Larry’s favorite things to do. Watching a Cleveland Brown’s game, reading, playing a good game of euchre, learning new things on YouTube, and spending time with his family and friends brought him enjoyment. He loved to kid and joke, but what brought Larry the most joy was time with his children and grandchildren.
Larry leaves behind, his wife, Carol; his children, Gary, Bradley (Esther), Wendy (Mark); his grandchildren, Adam, Morgan, Riley, Jacob, Emma, Christian, Matthew, and Jason; and his brother, Dennis (Katie). He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry, and his parents.
