Laurie Lynn Caputo

Laurie Lynn Caputo, 53, of Martin, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 6, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio to Karen Caputo and James Giffin.  Laurie was a 1987 graduate of Clay High School and began her career in the insurance business.  She worked for Brown and Brown Insurance for 10 years before becoming an insurance broker with Frankenmuth Insurance where she worked for the last 16 years.  Laurie was also the backbone of a professional drag race team, Maximum Performance, that started in 1991 and ran until 2008.  Ultimately, she was a major influence in the birth of Maximum Performance cycles as one of the most well-known, high-end shops in the tri state area and beyond.  Laurie enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Laurie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Mike Caputo; sons, Tony (Rachel) Caputo, and Markus (Brooke) Caputo; grandchildren, Preston, Konnor, Casey, and Jaxon; her mother, Karen Caputo; brother, Scott (Angie) Giffin; and nephews, Scott Jr and Aaron Giffin.  She was preceded in death by her father, James Giffin and stepfather, Jerry Caputo.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Rogel Cancer Center at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
