Ma. Ignacia Villegas

Ignacia Villegas, age 66, of Toledo passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Ignacia was born to Cirilo and Maria (Narvaiz) Castaneda on July 31, 1954 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Ignacia attended culinary school when she was young and had a passion for cooking. Ignacia has lived in Toledo for 45 years. She opened her home to everyone and made sure everyone was fed. A very giving person, she loved helping people in need. Ignacia loved life, listening to music, dancing and going for joy rides. As a hobby, she embroidered and gardened. She loved her flowers. Most of all her grandchildren were the center of her world. 

Ignacia is survived by her husband, Valente; children Jaime (Gwen) Zapata, Nora (Bernabe) Yanez, Belinda (Mario) Monjaraz, Anita (A.G.) Cruz, Javier Villegas and Luisa Villegas; beloved aunt, Francisca Zapata; grandchildren, Corina, Mariah, Eli, Sylvia, Ricardo, Maria, Tania, Saul, Alan, Oziel, Imalai, Aylina, Salome, Santiago, Celeste, Javier Jr., Daniela and Elias; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 brothers and sisters and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Mirta Villegas.

Friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon on Sunday November 15, 2020 from 2 until 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at SS Peter and Paul 728 St. Clair St in Toledo on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery.
