Marguerite "Marge" L. (Cotty) Kania

Marguerite “Marge” L. Kania, 79, of Curtice, OH, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born in Toledo, OH, May 12, 1942 to Harold “Whitey” and Willamina “Billie” (Dunkle) Cotty. Marge graduated from Clay High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Richard “Dick”, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on June 25, 1960, and together they raised their family. Marge retired in 2018 after working 20 years as a title agent at Buckeye Title. She was a parishioner at St. Ignatius Catholic Church and had a generous heart. She was always one to give. Marge was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She lived for seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s smiles. Marge will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

Marge leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Richard “Dick” Kania; her children, David (Diane) Kania and Jane (Timothy) Schulte; her grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary (Becky), Nicholas (MaKayla), Allison (Michael), and Benjamin (Erica); her great-grandchildren, Carter, Jaxon and Madilynn; and her sister, Mary. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jim, and her parents.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Oregon, OH on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in the church narthex. Marge will be laid to rest at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
