Martina Lazcano Salinas

Martina Salinas, age 84 of Toledo, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, at her home. Martina was born on January 7, 1937, in Robstown, Texas to  Amado and Soila (Lazcano) Garcia. She is known for her spectacular tamales and Spanish rice and she loved playing bingo. Martina was a selfless woman, always helping others. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. She and her husband Israel were active members of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Martina is survived by her children, Irene Salinas, Velma (Francis “Butch”) Hofbauer, Viola (Bruce) Carr, Israel (Debbie) Salinas, Ruben Salinas, and Michael (Deana) Salinas; sisters, Sara Salinas, Mary Lou Lopez, and Esmeralda Rodriguez; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Israel, sister Lupita, and brother Amado Jr.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, April 22, 2020, from 2 - 8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
