Michael Barrett Obituary

Michael D. Barrett, 79, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center.   He was born on June 24, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Earl and Louise Barrett.  Mike was a 1961 graduate of Woodward High School.  He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War.  After returning home from service, he married his wife, Connie on April 11, 1969.  Mike worked as a milkman for Village Farm Dairy and Babcock Dairy for many years.  He retired from In and Out Mart where he helped as store manager.  

 

After retiring, Mike worked as a golf ranger at Giant Oaks Golf Course.  He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church where he sang in the choir, helped as a greeter, and served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Mike was a third-degree member of the K.O.C. Walbridge Council.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, drawing pictures and working in his yard.  He will be dearly missed.

 

            Mike is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie; children, Tamara (Fred) Cerrone, Dean (Shannon) Barrett, Tara (Chris) Urbanyi, and Trisha (Shawn) Woods; grandchildren, Hailey and Madison Woods, Logan and Alexa Urbanyi, Abigail, Deven, and Kellen Barrett, and Andrew Cerrone; sister, Rebecca Barrett; brother, Alan (Jean) Barrett; sister-in-law, Cindy Barrett and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ben Barrett, and grandson, Corey Cerrone.

 

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 3-8:00 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street in Walbridge where family will greet guests after 9:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
