Ronald F. Sandish

     Ronald F. Sandish, 88, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. Ron was born in Cleveland on November 19, 1930 to Fred and Mae Sandish. He graduated from Parma Schaaf High School in 1949. Ron served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He met Jean Ross, his future wife of 59 yrs., while stationed at Dover AFB. Ron attended The Ohio State University and graduated from Cleveland State in 1968. He worked as a civil engineer with the McKee Co. in Cleveland and later at Brush Wellman in Elmore.

     He is survived by his children, Steven, Karen (Wayne) Hinkle, Jennifer (Don) Mayer, Susan (Paul) Rossman, and Thomas (Lori); 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers, George (Pat) and Ernest. Ron enjoyed his workshop, traveling, and spending time with his family.

     Friends may call at the Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 4-6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd. on Monday, August 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Oregon Senior Center.
