 Sandra “Miss Sandy” Hays

Sandra Marie Hays, 64, of Oregon, Ohio passed away doing what she loved, camping, on Saturday, October 9, 2021.  She was born on September 5, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to Jim and Ginger Hays.  Sandy was a 1977 graduate of Start High School.  She worked for 42 years as a daycare teacher where her students called her “Miss Sandy”.  She had the kindest, most loving heart of anyone you could ever meet.  Sandy was a kid at heart and loved telling corny jokes.  Sandy loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, camping, playing cards and games. Sandy was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.  She will be dearly missed.

Sandy is survived by her siblings, Mike (Joyce) Hays, Cindy (Tom) Osborne, and Mark (Deb Corkins) Hays; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Melissa) Hays, Katelyn (Kris) Rabatin, Josh (Colleen) Osborne, Jason (Mandy) Osborne, Jeanne (Charles) Williams, Melissa Hays, Brad (Annie) Hays, and Devon (Mike) Schroeder.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ginger Hays.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 2-8:00 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd in Oregon where family will greet guests after 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Toledo Humane Society.
