Shannon "Shay" L (McVicker) Thomasson

Shannon L. “Shay” Thomasson, 34, passed away April 7, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic after a two and a half week battle with all leukemia, with her loving husband of 12 years, Carl J. “CJ” Thomasson, as well as her son, Evan, by her side. Shay was born October 8, 1984 to Richard “Rick” and Jane (Crowder) McVicker. She was also a graduate of the Toledo Beauty Academy in 2012 and had a true passion for styling people’s hair.

Shay enjoyed spending quality time with Evan, CJ, and her family and friends. She loved her late-night random conversations with her sister, Sonya. She was very passionate about music (she definitely got that from her father). Shay enjoyed going to new places and especially enjoyed visiting her mother and family in West Virginia. She loved shopping and taking Evan to the zoo and park.

Shay is survived by her loving husband, Carl J. Thomasson; and her most precious joy, her son, Evan; mother, Jane (Donnie) McVicker; sister, Sonya (Chris) Hill; loving nieces and a nephew.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with the family to receive guests after 10 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
