Teresa Ann Powers

Teresa Ann Powers, age 60, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic.  She was born on November 11, 1960 in Sandusky, Ohio to John and Ascension Alafita.  Teresa was a graduate of Clyde High School and worked at St Francis Rehabilitation Hospital as a nurse’s aide where she met her husband, Chris.  She went on to work at Whirlpool, retiring after 24 years of service.  Teresa loved her family, especially the grandkids.  She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and crafting.  She will be dearly missed.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Chris; daughters, Christy (Carl) Rucki and Cassandra; grandchildren, Christian and Kaiden; her father, John Alafita and siblings, Gary Alafita, Vickie Alafita, Danny Alafita, Mary (Tim) Goodhand and Margaret (Coland) Person.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Ascension; brothers, Steven, Rudy, Robert and Daniel I.

A memorial gathering will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 South Wynn Road, Oregon on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Transplant House of Cleveland.
