William "Bill" Thomas

William P. Thomas, age 75, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Gardens of St. Francis.  He was born on June 5, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Theodore and Margaret Thomas.  Bill was a 1965 graduate of Clay High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during Vietnam.  He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 2002.  Bill was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved to hunt, fish, and bird watch.  He traveled all over the county and Canada going on many hunting trips.  Bill was a member of the Oak Harbor Conservation Club, where he enjoyed passing his knowledge on to the future generations of hunters.  He will be dearly missed.

Bill is survived by his sister, Cathy Janick; special friends, Beau (Dana) Miller, Bruce Miller, Jake Doust, and Ed Labounty; nieces, Karen (Jeff) Berry, Amy Crowe, and Kate (Joe) Maunz; nephew, Steven Berry, and many great nieces, nephews, and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Ed Janick.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 3-7:00 p.m. where Military Honors will be performed at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Oak Harbor Conservation Club.
