William "Bill" Carr

William M. Carr, 82, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Landings of Oregon.  He was born on November 18, 1939 in Harbor View, Ohio to Mildred and Merle Carr.  Bill was a 1958 graduate of Clay High School and enlisted in the United States Army after graduation.  He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving with the Corp of Engineers. 

Bill married the love of his life, Barbara (Gorka) on September 23, 1961.  He worked for Farmcrest Bakery and Roadway Express on the dock.  After retiring, he took on several part-time jobs, the last one being with the Village of Millbury in the Streets Department.  Bill enjoyed woodworking, traveling and camping, but what he cherished the most was his family.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara (Gorka); sisters, Margie Bringe, Violet (Walt) Kerstetter, Darlene (Don) Wells, and Anna Carr; children, Keith (Lisa) Carr, Ken (Lori) Carr, and Kim (Steve) Schave; grandchildren, Justin (Vanessa) Car, Jacob Carr, Hanna Carr, Taylor (Jimmy) Irwin, Rebecca (Matt Hoff) Carr, Rachel Schave, Sarah Schave, Leah Schave, Luke Schave, Carly Gardull, and Samantha Gardull; and great-grandson, Gunnar Carr.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Richard and grandsons, Joshua, and Zachary Schave.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  The family would like to thank Ashanti Hospice and Landings of Oregon for the excellent care given to us.
