Evelyn R. "Evie" (Betz) Welty

             Evelyn R. Welty, 98, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Arbors of Oregon.  She was born on January 12, 1919 in Toledo, Ohio to Harold and Ida (Heidrich) Betz. Evie graduated from Scott High School in 1937 and married Kenneth Welty on March 18,1939. She was a cook with Toledo Public Schools for 30 years until she retired. Evie was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

            She is survived by her loving children, Richard (Sue) Welty and Sharon (Don) Perry; grandchildren, Teresa, Ken, Chrissy, Don, Tracy and Scott; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and 2 sisters.

            Arrangements have been entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.  Friends and family can visit at Glenwood Lutheran Church, 2545 Monroe St, Toledo, OH 43620 on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park after the funeral.  Memorial contributions may be made to Glenwood Lutheran Church.

            Evie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Arbors at Oregon for all of the T.L.C. She knew she was loved.
