Gerald Kauffman

Gerry Kauffman, 53, of Toledo passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the LaBuhn Center of Genacross of Toledo. He was born September 14, 1963 in Norwalk, Ohio to Gerald Kauffman and Shirley Fry.  Gerry was a graduate of Penta County Vocational School.

            For over 30 years, Gerry delivered pizzas for Marco’s Pizza at their McCord Rd location. Gerry had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. His bright personality and infectious smile touched many lives. Those he met instantly became lifelong friends. Gerry loved cats and listening to all types of music. He was a Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed going to the Toledo Mud Hens and Detroit Tigers games.

            Gerry is survived by his loving mom, Shirley Sheely; sisters, Vickie (Ron) Maenle, Pennie Kauffman and Lori DuBell; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; stepfather, Roy Sheely, Jr. and niece, Regina Maenle.

A memorial gathering will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday, from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m.  Inurnment will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the staff at the LaBuhn Center for their love and care.
