James F. Dile Jr.

June 4, 1947 ~ November 23, 2015 (age 68) 68 Years Old

James F. Dile Jr. 68, passed away on November 23, 2015 surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 4, 1947, second son to Elsie M. (Bowers) and James F. Dile, Sr. and was a 1965 graduate of Waite High School.  He married his high school sweetheart Ruthann Manteuffel and they celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary this year.  For over 46 years, Jim worked on the railroad, retiring in 2012 as an Engineer with Norfolk Southern.  In 2007 he was presented a plaque of Recognition for Outstanding Performance and Contributions in Safety and Service.  Throughout his career Jim was best known for his knowledge and special use of the “Book of Rules”.

Jim’s days were always filled with his daughters and grandchildren.  He loved souping up Tricycles, Bicycles, Scooters or tuning up the Go-Carts for days of fun.  There wasn’t much that Poppy couldn’t fix or make go faster.  He really enjoyed the Soccer games and cheering on Ohio State Football games.  Weekends were also for long nights of card games with family and friends.  On many mornings you could find him out searching garage sales for great deals.  That is where he found his treasured set of Callaway Golf Clubs for $50.00.

Those who are left to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Ruthann; daughters, Shelley Dile (Ray Canales), Pamela (Tony) Shirey and Marcy (Ron) Hughes; grandchildren, Sydney Lynn James Dile,  Andrew, Megan, Rebecca Hughes; Brothers Robert, John and Jerry Dile,  along with many nieces and nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Randy Dile.

Family and friends my visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Burial will be private.

We thank all who came to visit Jim during his battle with Lung Cancer.  Your cards, encouraging words and warm wishes were very much appreciated.
