Joanne Marie (Basil) Garcia

     Joanne Marie Garcia, 72, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital.  She was born on February 17, 1944 in Toledo to Eleanor and Frank Basil and was one of 13 siblings.  Joanne graduated from Port Clinton High school. She loved playing cards, Bingo, and spending time with her family and  many friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and recently welcomed a great-grandson.

     Joanne is survived by her son, Joseph (Crystal) Malino; daughter, Amber (LD) Fryman; grandsons, Joseph Malino Jr “Precious Precious”, Marky, Dominic, Eddie, Robert Garcia and Frank Foust; granddaughter, Olivia Fryman “PooPoo”; great- grandsons, Joseph Malino III and Christopher Ruiz; many great-great-grandchildren and sisters, Caroline Warr and Leta Montgomery of Florida, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Garcia; siblings, Sam, Jim, John, Tony and Joseph, Mary, Nancy, Antoinette,  Eleanor and Baby Basil and nephew, Steven Core.

     A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Freck Funeral Chapel from 12 – 4:00 p.m. where a Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.  Burial will be private at Restlawn Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
