JOHN  T.  BARTON

John T. Barton, 76, was called home to be with the Lord on August 28th, 2015, with his loving daughter Kishta and his grandson Tommy by his side.

John was born on July 5, 1939, to the late Charles Cecil and Mary Helen Barton in Oregon, Ohio. John proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and worked for 46 years for Coral Chemical Company as their Senior Chemical Consultant.

On June 26, 1959, John married the love of his life, the former Carol Sue Katte. Together they had a son, John Daniel, and a daughter, Kishta.

John and Carol were avid golfers and longtime members of the Chippewa Golf Course, where he won multiple Senior Club Championships, and scored four holes-in-one.

In addition to his mother and father, John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol; a sister, Carol Ann; and a granddaughter, Jon Casey.

John is survived by his son, John D. (Lisa) Barton of New Philadelphia, Ohio; his daughter, Kishta (Bruce) Millinger of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren; Gunnery Sergeant John J. (Jessica) Barton, USMC, of Dover, Ohio; Aisha (Tejae) Kelley of Dover, Ohio; John Thomas Millinger of Millbury, Ohio; Tad Millinger of Las Vegas, Nevada; Jared Barton of Cincinnati, Ohio; Autumn Barton of Ravenna, Ohio; Taylor Millinger (Ian Stubbins) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and seven great-granchildren; JJ, Jace, and Jaxon Barton; Bryce, Braelynn, and Brielle Kelley; and Deacon Stubbins.

Special thank you to Roger and Debbie Biddle, longtime close friends and neighbors of John and Carol, for their continued friendship and support over the years. Also to Jack Bullers, and Cheryl Davenport, who John also cared for very much.

 A memorial gathering will held on  Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Freck Funeral Chapel from 11-Noon where a Memorial Service will begin at Noon.  Burial will be private.  Those wishing to honor John may do so by making a donation in his name to the Ottawa County Humane Society.
