Josefina Gomez Calumpang

     Josefina Gomez Calumpang, 61, of Oregon passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home. She was born in the Philippines on April 13, 1954 to Dominador and Josefina (Villanueva) Gomez and graduated in 1979 from Cebu Doctors’ University with a degree in Physical Therapy.  After coming to the United States in 1983, Josefina worked for the St. Charles Outpatient Rehabilitation Center and for various home health care agencies. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking and quilting and was a member of the Filipino Association of Toledo.

     Josefina is survived by her loving husband, Mario; daughters, Jho and Dominique Calumpang; sister, Minda (Antonio) Bispo and their children: Babel, Rexma and Jasmine; sister, Luz (Jose) Tabilon and their children: Janet, Joel and Rachael; sister-in-law, Daria Gomez and her children: Alissa and Tresslyn and Mario’s siblings in the Philippines: Marissa, Ceciro, Norman, Fedila, Helen, Casiano, Jr. and Eva along with their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Nilo Gomez.

     Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. with a Novena Prayer Service to begin at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with the family receiving guests one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
