            Robert "Bob" G. Emch, age 92, passed away on October 12, 2016.  He was born on April 23, 1924 in Toledo, OH to the late John and Minnie (Berman) Emch and was a graduate of Toledo Waite High School. Spending his last months in Fredericksburg, VA, Bob resided in Venice, Florida for 30 years and was previously of Anchorage, AK, Lima, OH and Toledo, OH. Retiring from BP, formerly Standard Oil of Ohio (SOHIO), he had 42 years of service retiring as the Process Superintendent of Oil Movement and Storage at the Lima Refinery and was SOHIO’s Sr. Operations Engineer responsible for the design, implementation and training of the topping units that provided a self-sustaining capability critical to in the pump station operations of the Trans Alaskan Pipeline. A veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army, Bob was a member and supporter of the Republican Party and a past member of the Elks Lodge in Venice, FL and was an avid baseball fan. He was a devoted fan loyal to his Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds while enjoying his favorite comfort foods and sweets. His generosity and caring for others never wavered till his death. His wisdom, love, and presence will be missed by his family and friends.

            Preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Ann; granddaughter, Andrea Marie; siblings, Clarence Emch, Myron “Mike” Emch, Ruth Logsdon, Bernadine “Bea” Nachtrab, James “Jim” Emch, Edna Moore, Barbara Sabin, Norman Emch, he is survived by his sons, Timothy ( Mary Ellen) Emch of San Antonio TX, James (Cindy) Emch of Fredericksburg, VA, three grandsons (John, David, Jared); seven great- grandchildren; brother, Jack (Carol) Emch; sister, Phyllis Sabin, all of Venice, FL.

            Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, OH 43616 on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 11-1 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.  A private inurnment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery.
